Media: HBO is working on a Game of Thrones feature film
Warner Bros. and HBO are actively developing the Game of Thrones franchise. According to media reports, seven unannounced series and anime based on the Game of Thrones universe are currently in production, and in 2025 the officially announced series A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will be released, which will tell the story of knight Duncan the Tall and his squire Egg, the future King Aegon V Targaryen.
But it looks like HBO's plans go beyond the TV series.
Here's What We Know
According to The Hollywood Reporter, preparations are already underway for a feature film based on Game of Thrones.
The project is at an early stage of production, it has no scriptwriter, director or actors yet, but Warner Bros. is determined to bring its successful franchise to the big screens.
As a reminder, the "Game of Thrones" showrunners previously had the idea of releasing three feature films instead of the final season, but HBO rejected the idea. Since then, much has changed in the management of the film company and, apparently, now there are more favourable to feature-length films.
