Google may expand Quick Share to iPhone and MacBook users
Google may be working on bringing its Quick Share file sharing client to Apple devices like the iPhone and MacBook.
Here's What We Know
Quick Share, formerly known as Nearby Share, lets you quickly transfer files over a local network and is already available on Android, Chromebooks, and Windows. The source code for Nearby Connections, on which Quick Share is based, recently fixed a bug regarding the display of device names on iOS and macOS, which could indicate that it's preparing to release the client for those platforms.
If Google does release Quick Share for iOS and macOS, it would simplify file sharing between devices on different operating systems and reduce users' reliance on alternative solutions. However, this is just speculation for now as there has been no official confirmation from Google. If successful, Quick Share could become an important tool for iOS and macOS users, especially if it becomes widespread.
