The Pixelmator app is one of the most popular image creation and editing programmes. It is used as an alternative to Photoshop, but unlike Adobe's toolkit Pixelmator requires a one-time fee of $49.

Pixelmator is actively used on Apple devices and the company appreciated the capabilities of the image editor so much that it made an important decision.

Here's What We Know

On the Pixelmator Blog, the development team revealed that Apple has made them a merger offer and if the deal is approved by Lithuanian regulators, it will be finalised as soon as possible.

Pixelmator has signed an agreement to be acquired by Apple, subject to regulatory approval. There will be no major changes to Pixelmator Pro, Pixelmator for iOS and Photomator for now. Stay tuned for interesting updates.

At the moment, teaming up with Apple will not affect the use of Pixelmator software, but in the long run, the developers hope that working together with the American giant will allow them to attract even more users and offer them new features.
