Google Messages introduces the ability to choose the resolution of photos you send
Google Messages will soon get a feature familiar to WhatsApp users that will let them choose the resolution of photos they send.
Here's What We Know
The latest beta version of the app has introduced "HD" and "HD+" icons in the new photo selection window. The "HD" option optimises photo resolution, sacrificing quality for the sake of sending speed and saving data. While "HD+" leaves the image at its original resolution, which requires more data and time to send.
The selected option will be displayed with an icon and a tick in the bottom right corner. This feature is similar to the same in WhatsApp, where users can choose between standard and HD image quality. However, unlike WhatsApp, Google Messages uses the "HD+" icon to indicate the original resolution. The new feature is only available in beta for now, and it is not known when it will be available to the general public.
