Samsung has unveiled the next generation of Bixby at CES 2024. The updated voice assistant, available on the Chinese W25 and W25 Flip models, now better understands natural language and context.

Here's What We Know

Earlier today at CES 2024, Samsung unveiled a new version of Bixby, which debuted on the Chinese W25 and W25 Flip models. The system is based on large language models (LLMs), which allows it to better understand natural language and context, supporting a more natural dialogue.

The updated Bixby is able to answer complex queries such as "What should I wear to work?" with the weather in mind. It can also respond to follow-up questions, such as travel time, and suggest routes based on traffic.

In addition, the new Bixby supports contextual screen: it analyses what's on the display to provide relevant advice, such as directions to a meeting point mentioned in a chat. Bixby's interface has been updated to support voice and text input and features colourful animations.

For now, the new Bixby is only available on the W25 and W25 Flip in China, but is expected to be available on other Samsung devices with the release of One UI 7.0 next year.
