Streaming service Amazon Prime Video has announced a great feature for those who have trouble remembering previous episodes or seasons of TV series/movies.

Here's What We Know

The X-Ray Recaps feature is based on the use of AI, which analyses the video sequence, audio and subtitles and produces a short retelling of individual episodes, seasons or specific scenes at the user's request.

This technology will build on the existing X-Ray option, which provides cast, plot and other information about a media product.

Whether you've turned on a new episode, watched half a season, or taken a break from the show and want to refresh your memory, X-Ray Recaps will provide short text snippets of key decisions, character-driven plot points, and other details that can be accessed at any point in the viewing experience.

The feature will first be available to Fire TV (US) users in beta testing mode, but a more mainstream launch is expected by the end of 2024.

At release, X-Ray Recaps will be able to tell the story of all Amazon MGM Studios Original series.
