YouTube updates its playback speed interface on Android and iOS: new design and user-friendly slider

YouTube has announced an updated interface for setting playback speeds in Android and iOS apps.

Here's What We Know

Instead of the previous expanded list that took up almost half the screen, the new design makes it easier to change the speed with a shorter menu at the bottom of the display.

Five preset speeds are now available: 0.25x, 1.0x (normal speed), 1.25x, 1.5x and 2x.

Users can now more easily adjust the playback speed with a slider that allows them to change the speed in 0.5 increments, as well as plus and minus buttons for fine-tuning.

The update is already available for users of versions 19.43 on Android and 19.44 on iOS, and simplifies access to settings.
