South Korea responds to the DPRK's latest missile test by launching a Hyunmoo-II ballistic missile in the Yellow Sea.

Here's What We Know

The South Korean military conducted live-fire ballistic missile exercises in the western coastal district, 108 km from Seoul.

As part of the exercise, which took place on 7 November, South Korean forces launched a short-range Hyunmoo-II ballistic missile in response to recent missile launches by North Korea, including the test of the Hwasong-18 intercontinental missile.

The missile hit a sea target that simulated a DPRK missile launcher, demonstrating South Korea's readiness to respond promptly to any provocations by Pyongyang.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff of South Korea stressed that they continue to monitor the DPRK's military activity together with their US allies.

It is worth recalling that recently, during the Sacheon Air Show, South Korea also presented a new supersonic air-to-ground missile. It is designed for FA-50 light strike fighters and the latest KF-21 aircraft, and is aimed at both exporting and enhancing the combat capabilities of the South Korean Air Force.
