UK will support Ukraine regardless of US position on war - army commander
The Chief of Defence Staff of the United Kingdom, Admiral Anthony Radakin, has assured that his country will support Ukraine in the Russian-Ukrainian war, regardless of the position of the United States under the Donald Trump administration.
Here's What We Know
The Chief of the British Defence Staff stressed that Western allies will support Ukraine for as long as necessary, demonstrating their readiness for long-term support.
However, he refrained from commenting on the future of US policy towards Ukraine immediately after the election, focusing instead on the situation at the front.
According to him, Russian forces have had some tactical successes and are seizing new territory, but these achievements have come at a high price. The general noted that in October, daily losses among the Russian military exceeded 1,500 people, including the wounded and dead.
At the same time, according to Radakin, Russia is losing ground at the strategic level. Among the evidence of this, he mentioned the accession of Sweden and Finland to NATO, which strengthened the alliance and created an additional challenge for Moscow.
It is worth reminding that during the election campaign, Donald Trump repeatedly claimed that he would "end the war" if re-elected, without specifying how. Once he even said that he could end the war in 24 hours. Of course, thanks to his good relations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian leader Putin.
