Bloomberg: Apple has revised the release date of Vision Pro 2 headset with M5 chip
Apple continues to have big difficulties with virtual reality headsets. We have already reported that the American manufacturer is reducing and may even stop the production of mixed reality headset Vision Pro, and according to insider information, the release of the budget model of this device is postponed until 2027.
Now it has become known about the postponement of the release of the next generation of Apple Vision Pro.
Here's What We Know
Insider and journalist Bloomberg Mark Gurman reported that Apple has revised internal plans and now the release of Vision Pro 2 is scheduled for the period from autumn 2025 to spring 2026.
It is expected that the design of the headset will remain virtually unchanged, and the company will focus on improving the software and hardware, for example, the Vision Pro 2 may embed the M5 chip, which will provide a huge performance boost over the M2 chips used in the current version of the headset.
As a reminder, the main complaint about the Vision Pro is its cost. Few people are willing to spend $3500 on a device with limited functionality. If the new model does not become cheaper (and why would it become cheaper with an advanced chip?) - it will be a difficult story.
