It's official: the second season of The Last of Us will launch on the Max service in spring 2025
The Last of Us was a real eye-opener in 2023 and is undoubtedly one of the best video game adaptations ever made. The dramatic story of the smuggler Joel and the girl Ellie has long been a favourite of gamers and was later appreciated by film fans.
The public is eagerly awaiting the release of the second season of The Last of Us and finally, HBO has specified the dates of its premiere.
Here's What We Know
HBO and streaming service Max content chief Casey Bloys said that the sequel to The Last of Us will be released in the spring of 2025 - remember, earlier the wording "in the first half of 2025".
In the second season viewers will see an adaptation of the events of The Last of Us Part II (2020), but the producers have long said that the whole story will not fit into one season, so viewers will expect at least a third season. But the second season will be shorter than the first - seven episodes instead of nine.
Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey will return to their roles. The cast is joined by Isabela Merced, who will play the role of Dina, Kaitlyn Dever - she got the role of Abby and Jeffrey Wright as Isaac - the head of the paramilitary group WLF. It is noteworthy that Wright voiced his character in the game.
