Xiaomi has announced that it has passed the 100,000 mark of SU7 model cars produced. The Chinese company expects that by the end of the month will reach the mark of 100 thousand deliveries of cars to customers.

Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun shared the event on social network Weibo, noting that only 230 days have passed since the SU7 was launched. "For a newcomer to the auto industry, such speed is already something special," Lei emphasised and added that the company has a celebration event planned. He also said that he arrived at the Xiaomi EV factory in Beijing in the early morning and even took a nap on the workshop floor.

Here's What We Know

Xiaomi officially announced its plans in the automotive sector in March 2021. The first production car was the Xiaomi SU7 electric sedan. The presentation of the model took place on 28 March 2024. The car is presented in three versions: Standard (costs 215,900 yuan / $29,850), Pro (245,900 yuan / $34,095) and Max (299,900 yuan / $41,580).

On 29 October, Xiaomi opened pre-orders for a more powerful version - the SU7 Ultra - priced at 814,900 yuan ($112,990). The SU7 Ultra's first public unveiling will take place on 15 November at the Guangzhou Auto Show, with the official sales launch scheduled for March 2025.

Xiaomi expects to be able to deliver 120,000 cars to customers by the end of 2024, thus exceeding its initial plan. The Beijing plant where the SU7 is produced has a design capacity of 150,000 cars per year, but it may be expanded in the future.
