Russia cuts payments to wounded soldiers

The government of the occupying country of Russia has approved a reduction in the amount of one-off payments to servicemen in case of combat injuries or disability.

Now, the amount of compensation for injuries in the war against Ukraine in Russia varies from 100,000 to 3 million rubles, depending on the severity of the injuries.

According to the new rules, the RUB 3 million payment is only for severe injuries defined in Section I of the list of "mutilations", which include, for example, traumatic amputations, multiple rib fractures, skull injuries, and spinal cord and spinal cord injuries.

The minor injuries described in Section II, such as closed skull injuries with concussion, ligament tears, gunshot wounds to soft tissue and hearing injuries, will provide victims with compensation of RUB 1 million. For other, less serious injuries, a payment of RUB 100,000 is provided.
