VW's ID.Buzz Cargo electric van gets aggressive factory dodging and fake windows
The cargo version of the Volkswagen ID.Buzz electric car has been given a bit of "sportiness" in the form of a new factory dodger and fake windows. The most interesting thing is that this is not the development of some tuning studio, but an official accessory package from the VW Netherlands division.
Thanks to the new "panels under the glass" ID.Buzz Cargo looks like its passenger counterpart with tinted windows. The windows, of course, are not real and don't add any practicality as they are simply glued on top of the bodywork. But it must be admitted that the imitation looks authentic.
To this visual package is added another interesting set - Styling package, which provides an aggressive splitter on the front bumper, side skirts to protect the body and a stylish rear spoiler. If desired, you can also choose the Red Accent package - accentuated red inserts on the front bumper, mirrors and a protective pad on the rear bumper.
Additionally, VW offers individual elements to choose from: 20-inch wheels, black emblems, glossy mirrors and black decor for the area around the air intakes. This adds even more aggression to the ID.Buzz Cargo, especially when compared to the top-of-the-line ID.Buzz GTX. Inside, a hard-wearing 'eco-leather' is available and no animals were harmed in its production.
Here's What We Know
VW ID.Buzz Cargo is available in three modifications: a basic RWD with 170 hp (125 kW), a more powerful version with 286 hp (210 kW) and a version with two motors and all-wheel drive producing 340 hp (250 kW) - like the GTX.
And now for the money: the stylish tuning will cost €5,080 (US$5,400) if you order the entire package in full. Individually, it will cost:
- €1,795 ($1,900) for the Styling package
- €1,790 ($1,900) for 20-inch alloy wheels.
- 695 euros ($740) for the window simulation.
- 495 euros ($520) for Red Accent package
- 305 euros ($320) for black badges.
As for the standalone VW ID.Buzz Cargo, prices for this electric car start at €39,990 ($42,500) in the Netherlands.
