Rumours that Samsung is having trouble developing the Exynos 2500 processor for the new Galaxy S25 flagship have been circulating for some time now. Company representatives report that one of the reasons for these problems is the short working week.

Here's What We Know

The main reason for the delays in the production of the Exynos 2500, a senior Samsung engineer calls the 52-hour working week imposed by the government. This restriction prevents projects from being completed on time, as employees are forced to go home without finishing their work. Some key employees sometimes work overtime, but their extra hours are not accounted for by the company. In addition, Samsung's foundry operates with 10 times fewer staff compared to giants like TSMC, which may also be making it difficult to produce products on time.

As a result, Samsung has to rely on Snapdragon processors to make it in time for the release of the Galaxy S25 in January. The Exynos 2500 processor costs around $150, which is significantly cheaper than the $250 Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite that Samsung is now forced to use for all Galaxy S25 devices.

Despite the completion of the Exynos 2500 chipset, Samsung's factory is facing a high defect rate during its production, making it impossible to provide enough Exynos 2500 processors for the new S25 line of smartphones.
