The entire Galaxy S25 series will receive the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset: why Samsung will abandon Exynos
For a long time, Samsung's Galaxy S series has used a strategy of combining Snapdragon and Exynos chipsets depending on the region. However, new rumours suggest that the Galaxy S25 may change this tradition.
Here's What We Know
A well-known Ice Universe insider has reiterated that all Galaxy S25 models will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and the company will abandon the Exynos 2500 for this line.
This is not the first attempt to predict Samsung's chipset strategy for future flagships. Previously, there were rumours about the possible use of a combination of Snapdragon and Exynos or even MediaTek chipsets for certain models.
The Exynos 2500 chip, based on Samsung's 3nm technology, has a low percentage of quality chips (only 20%), which makes it expensive to produce. Instead, the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, manufactured by TSMC, has a much better performance - more than 80%. This is more profitable for production.
The official release is expected in January 2025.
