All new MacBook Pro with M4 chips get updated quantum dot screens
Apple recently released new MacBook Pro's with M4 chips, and as it turns out, they've received a significant display upgrade.
Here's What We Know
According to whistleblower Ross Young, the new MacBook Pro features a quantum dot screen. This technology has replaced the red KSF phosphor film used in previous models.
Quantum dots (QDs) offer better colour gamut and improved motion performance compared to KSF-phosphor. In addition, the new film is also cadmium-free, making it more environmentally friendly.
It's important to note that the new MacBook Pro still has LCD screens, and the technology doesn't make them as capable as QD-OLED displays. Nevertheless, it's a step forward in improving image quality. The improvement applies to all new MacBook Pro models, regardless of the presence of nano-texture.
