To celebrate Half-Life 2's 20th anniversary, Valve has released a major update, a two-hour documentary and is giving the game away for free

The cult shooter Half-Life 2, which is widely considered to be one of the best games in the history of the industry, turned 20 years old.

Valve company could not ignore such a significant anniversary and prepared surprises for the fans of the game.

Here's What We Know

Valve released a major update for Half-Life 2, in which the developers added Steam Workshop support, new achievements, a mode with developer comments, bug fixes, improved graphics and updated controls on Steam Deck.

All the innovations of the update can be found on the official Half-Life 2 Anniversary website.

In addition, the Episode One and Episode Two story add-ons are now built into the base game and are no longer sold separately.

To celebrate the anniversary, everyone can get the iconic game for free until the 18th of November.

Fans of Gordon Freeman's adventures will probably be glad to watch an in-depth two-hour documentary about how the famous Half-Life 2 was created.
