Samsung XR smart glasses with artificial intelligence won't arrive until the second half of 2025

According to recent reports, Samsung and Google are planning to release their XR smart glasses in the third quarter of 2025. According to a report from Wellsen XR, Samsung has finalised the development of the "smart glasses with artificial intelligence" and plans to produce at least 500,000 units in the first batch.

Here's What We Know

These glasses will be Android-powered and feature a 155 mAh battery, a 12-megapixel camera capable of scanning QR codes, recognising gestures and performing people recognition.

The glasses will weigh 50 grams and will get the Qualcomm AR1 chipset, which is also used in the Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses, a major competitor to Samsung's product.

While the exact release date is yet to be confirmed by Samsung, it is expected that more information about the new smart glasses will be revealed during the Galaxy S25 launch in January 2025.
