The Game Awards organiser and host Geoff Keighley hosted a broadcast to reveal the contenders for this year's awards.

Recall, the main game show of 2024 will be held on 12 December.

Here's What We Know

Voting for the best games of the year is already open on the TGA website and is available to everyone. The nominees are only those games that were released before 22 November 2024, the rest can receive awards next year.

The main innovation of this year will be that add-ons, seasonal updates, remakes and remasters can now qualify for awards on a par with the original games.

Astro Bot and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth have the most nominations (seven each). Metaphor: ReFantazio received six nominations, while Balatro and Silent Hill 2 Remake each received five.

The Shadow of the Erdtree expansion for Elden Ring was also among the contenders for the top award of the year.

Organisers have calculated that the most nominations (16) received games published by PlayStation. The projects published by Square Enix and Xbox got 12 nominations each, followed by Sega with 11 nominations.
