Daimler Buses has expanded its eCitaro bus range with the new compact Mercedes-Benz eCitaro K model. This low-floor bus with a length of 10.63 metres and a turning radius of 17.28 metres is designed for narrow urban routes and historic districts.

Here's What We Know

Despite its compact dimensions, the eCitaro K retains the functionality of its larger brethren: the 12.14-metre-long eCitaro and the 18.13-metre-long eCitaro G. With a wheelbase of 4,398 mm, the bus can accommodate up to 84 passengers.

The eCitaro K can be equipped with 4 to 6 battery modules with a maximum capacity of up to 588 kWh. Under optimum conditions, the eCitaro K can travel up to 400 kilometres on a single charge and up to 500 kilometres with the new generation of NMC4 batteries. Charging is possible either via a charging port with up to 150 kW or via a pantograph (up to 300 kW).

The new model is equipped with a modern climate control system with heat pump. Propulsion is provided by a ZF AVE 130 portal axle with 2×125 kW of power and 2×485 N-metre of torque.

The driver has access to the latest safety systems: Sideguard Assist 2 for blind spot monitoring, Frontguard Assist for detecting obstacles ahead, as well as speed, tyre pressure and fatigue monitoring systems.
