Ukraine plans to produce more than 30,000 long-range drones next year

In a speech to the Verkhovna Rada, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that by 2025 Ukraine plans to produce at least 30,000 long-range drones.

According to the President, domestic attack drones are already capable of flying over a thousand kilometres to hit important military and economic targets of the aggressor country Russia.

This opens up the possibility of more intensive strikes on the territory of the occupiers, which will force the Russians to spend significant resources to protect their critical facilities located in the deep rear.

For example, on 13 November, drones struck a Rosrezerv oil storage facility in the Penza region of Russia (approximately 700 km from the Ukrainian border). Local residents reported on social media that one of the tanks was damaged.

In late October, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine reported that over 10 months, it had contracted 1.6 million UAVs of various types with the Ministry of Digital Transformation for more than UAH 114 billion. These include long-range drones, FPV kamikazes, reconnaissance and attack copters, and wing drones. In addition, 155,205 units of unmanned aerial vehicles worth UAH 32.33 billion have already been contracted for 2025.
