We wrote that Sony was rumoured to be in talks about a merger with its parent company FromSoftware. Now we have official information.

Here's What We Know

FromSoftware's owner, Kadokawa, has confirmed that it has received a letter of intent from Sony to acquire the company's shares. However, negotiations are still ongoing and it is not known what decision the companies will come to.

Kadokawa Corporation, one of Japan's leading media companies, has a broad portfolio that includes publishing, anime, games, web services, education and technology.

If Sony does acquire Kadokawa, it will take over all the rights to FromSoftware's games, and it will also contribute to Sony's growth in the anime industry and beyond.
