Samsung unveils new Gauss 2 AI model: improvements to Browsing Assist, Call Assist, and Generative AI Edit

Samsung has announced a new Generative AI model, Gauss 2, which is the successor to the previous version of GenAI. The Gauss 2 model offers significantly improved performance and efficiency, allowing to optimise Galaxy AI functions.

The update supports multimodality, which allows processing different types of data, such as images, text, and code.

Samsung Gauss 2 is available in three versions: Compact, Balanced, and Supreme. Each of them is optimised for different user needs. Compact works without the Internet on smartphones and tablets, Balanced provides the optimal balance between speed and efficiency, and Supreme offers the best performance thanks to Mixture of Experts technology.

Gauss 2 is expected to significantly improve features such as Browsing Assist, Call Assist and Generative AI Edit.

The model is already being actively used at Samsung to increase the productivity of developers and business units. It will be the basis for future products, helping to ensure better personalisation and efficiency of user experience.
