France's DS Automobiles has announced its new all-electric car. The teasers hint at a sleek body shape in the style of a fastback crossover. The novelty is likely to be called DS8 and will have a range of 750 kilometres on the WLTP cycle.

Here's What We Know

Although this is the first publication of official images from the DS side, the network already has quite informative spy photos of the prototype of the new model. They show off an aggressive front end and a modern interior.

The camouflage on the prototype is inspired by the racing livery of DS Formula E cars. However, key design details remain visible: a frameless grille, flat bonnet, active air intakes and DS Pixel Vision LED-optics with vertical DRLs. The rear lights echo the sharp lines of the front end.

The electric car is built on the STLA Medium platform, which is also used in the Peugeot E-3008 and Opel Grandland. Thanks to its 98 kWh battery and good aerodynamic performance, the DS has achieved a range of 50 kilometres more than the Peugeot E-3008.

Although the interior was not shown in the official teasers, spy photos promise a digital instrument cluster, four-spoke steering wheel and premium materials. DS hints at "innovative technology" and a mysterious element in the driver's seat, but details are being kept under wraps for now.

A full unveiling of the new DS8 is expected before the end of 2024.
