Ajax IndoorCam: wireless IP camera with built-in artificial intelligence and security functions

Ajax Systems has announced the release of IndoorCam, a Wi-Fi video surveillance camera with an infrared sensor, built-in artificial intelligence, and a backup communication channel. The new product will be a convenient solution for homes, restaurants, shops or other facilities where the installation of wired systems is difficult or undesirable. It will also strengthen the company's presence in the video surveillance camera segment. It is the first wireless camera from the manufacturer to be announced together with the DoorBell smart doorbell and has many features in common with it.

Key features of IndoorCam

  • 4 MP camera: With HDR technology and IR illumination at a distance of up to 8 metres, the device provides clear and detailed images both day and night.
  • IR motion sensor: The sensor detects objects up to 4 metres away, and the built-in AI recognises people, animals and vehicles to minimise false alarms.
  • Two-way communication: The camera is equipped with a highly sensitive microphone and speaker for clear communication without background noise or echo.

Reliable connection.

Adding IndoorCam to the Ajax hub provides a backup communication channel that is activated in case of Wi-Fi connection loss. The camera continues to transmit events, alarms, and photos via the secure Jeweller and Wings radio protocols, which should guarantee stable operation even in difficult conditions. The communication range with the hub of up to 1700 metres ensures efficiency in large rooms, and frequency hopping (a data transmission method in which the signal constantly changes frequency according to a certain algorithm) automatically switches the camera to another channel in case of interference. The manufacturer promises that the system instantly detects attempts to jam the signal or lose the device, while maintaining reliability and full control over the security of the facility.

Availability and price

IndoorCam will be available in the first quarter of 2025. Future pricing has not yet been announced.
