The issue of regulating content created by artificial intelligence is becoming more and more relevant. And new rules in this regard have been introduced by Itch.io, a platform where people publish their indie games.

Here's What We Know

Itch.io now asks authors to indicate whether their game has generative AI. A field called "generative AI disclosure" offers developers to describe in detail which elements in the game were created by AI. It can be graphics, sound, text and dialogue, as well as code.

Such games will be marked with the "AI Generated" tag, as well as other tags that describe which aspects of their game use AI, such as "AI Generated Graphics" or "AI Generated Sounds".

So now players will be better informed about the games they play.
