Apple continues to dominate the US smartphone market
Apple maintains its leadership in the US smartphone market with a 53% share in the third quarter of 2024, according to Counterpoint Research.

Samsung is in second place with 23%, and Lenovo (owner of Motorola) is third with 14%. Other manufacturers, such as HMD, account for only 1%, leaving 9% for "other" brands.
Apple's market share has remained stable over the past three quarters, but sales are down 5% compared to the same period last year. Samsung's sales fell even further, by 13%. At the same time, Motorola showed an increase of 21%, driven by the popularity of the budget model Moto G Play 2024.
Overall, the US smartphone market declined by 6% compared to the third quarter of 2023. Despite this, Apple continues to be the undisputed leader in this category.
