The first school of ground drone operators has been established in the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The Ukrainian General Staff has informed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have set up the first training school for operators of unmanned ground robotic systems (UGVs).
Here's What We Know
A school for operators of unmanned ground robotic systems (UGVs) has been set up at one of the Armed Forces' training centres as part of a programme to develop such technologies in military operations.
The training covers about 10 types of UAVs for various purposes: logistics, special and engineering. Special attention is paid to improving the training process, scaling up the project, and creating a high-quality training base.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have developed a specific training programme that involves acquiring a relevant military accounting speciality. Specialised software and training models of robotic systems are used for this purpose. Colonel Vitaliy Dobriansky, Head of the Armed Forces of Ukraine's Innovation Department, noted that the training of crews should be balanced, with an emphasis on practical skills and the appropriate duration of training.
It is worth noting that over the past 10 months, the Defence Procurement Agency has signed 16 contracts worth almost UAH 300 million for the purchase of ground-based unmanned drones for various purposes.
