OpenAI, known for its ChatGPT product, is in talks with Samsung to bring its technology to Galaxy devices.

Here's What We Know

Samsung, the world's largest mobile device vendor, plans to equip more than 200 million devices with Galaxy AI features this year. This represents a significant opportunity for OpenAI, similar to what the company has been discussing with Apple to integrate its technology into the iPhone.

If an agreement is reached, Samsung will have to balance its collaboration with OpenAI with its long-standing partnership with Google, whose Gemini models are also used in Galaxy AI. In addition, Samsung plans to integrate Gemini's features into its future AR glasses.

Earlier this year, OpenAI's CEO, Sam Altman, visited Samsung's semiconductor manufacturing plant to discuss a possible collaboration on AI chips. The expanded business relationship could lead to closer collaboration between the companies and give OpenAI access to Samsung's huge mobile device base.
