Google TV has introduced a new ad format with a giant QR code placed on the screen. This code can be scanned to go to the advertiser's website.
Here's What We Know
For the first time, this format can be seen in the new Range Rover advert, as well as in Xbox ads.
The new advert tries to solve the problem with unclear links that used to simply lead to YouTube. Now, thanks to the QR code, users can quickly access the necessary content without leaving the advert.
Although the novelty attracts attention, it looks a bit clumsy due to the large size of the code on the screen. This format also emerged after surveys in which Google TV found out how viewers felt about the amount of advertising on the main screen.
