Microsoft has stopped offering upgrades to Windows 11 version 24H2 for PCs running certain Ubisoft games.

Here's What We Know

The decision comes after complaints of crashes in Star Wars: Outlaws and the Assassin's Creed series of games after installing the new Windows update. Microsoft confirmed the problem and said it is working with Ubisoft to fix it. In the meantime, the company does not recommend installing the Windows 11 24H2 update manually either.

The problems occur when launching, loading games or during gameplay, sometimes resulting in a black screen. Affected games include Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Assassin's Creed Origins, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Star Wars Outlaws and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Ubisoft has released a temporary fix for Star Wars Outlaws, but users may continue to experience performance issues. Microsoft and Ubisoft are still working on a full fix for the problem.
