Casio CRW-001-1ER smart ring in the form of a tiny watch has appeared on the websites of the UK and Singapore

Casio has announced the release of a new digital ring watch, the CRW-001-1ER. The device has appeared on the company's official websites in the UK and Singapore with a "coming soon" mark.

The model is expected to enter the market in December.

The CRW-001-1ER is the first smart ring from Casio to be released in honour of the brand's 50th anniversary.

The ring watch is equipped with a backlit LCD display, durable mineral crystal and stainless steel case. The functions include a 12- and 24-hour time format, a daily alarm, an automatic calendar and splash protection. The battery of the device is designed for two years of operation.

In the UK, the new product is priced at £105 ($132). In Singapore, the price is not yet available. The model will go on sale first in Japan with a recommended price of ¥19,800 ($128).
