Garmin releases major update for Fenix 8, Enduro 3 and Epix Pro: new features and performance improvements

Garmin has released a stable software update for its top smartwatches, including the Enduro 3, Fenix E, and Fenix 8.
Here's What We Know
The 12.22 update, which is now available for download, includes more than 130 changes compared to the previous 11.90 version, 79 of which are bug fixes.
The update improves the stability of the watch and adds new features such as active app overlay, improved support for marine units, new activities and meditation support.
Fenix 8 has new options for customising watch faces and the ability to reorder maps. The changes also include numerous fixes for GPS, map display, and watch face countdown. Owners of these models should receive a notification about the new update in the coming days.
New features
- New features for activities: Added support for new activity types, including sailing expeditions, new data fields for marine activities, and improved options for strength training and meditation. This gives users more options for tracking their workouts and improves the experience across different sports.
- Improved user interface: New watch faces have been added, including an additional watch face for the Epix Pro model, as well as the ability to reorder the pinned map layers, making navigation even easier. In addition, a new background has been added for the watch faces on the solar models, allowing you to further personalise the look of your device.
- Optimised data display: All search options have been added to the navigation app, as well as a segment page, allowing you to track your routes more accurately when competing or travelling.
- The update also includes new backup and restore capabilities, making it easier to set up after you restore or update your watch.
- Improved features for sports and activities: New features have been added to the meditation app to display a stress graph, as well as support for new units of measurement for marine activities. Additionally, the repetition editing interface has been updated for strength training, allowing you to better track your progress.
- Bug fixes: The update also includes numerous bug fixes, including addressing issues with incorrect data display, crashes in some apps, and improvements to smart notifications. In addition, several bugs with the display of information during activity have been fixed, making these models even more reliable to use.
