Activision is not going to abandon the annual release of new parts of Call of Duty and one of the main elements in the established system of work is the studio Sledgehammer Games, which not only releases its own games, but also provides significant support to colleagues in the work on shooters.

Sledgehammer's most famous projects have been Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2011), Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (2014), and Call of Duty: WWII (2017).

Soon another game may be added to this list.

Here's What We Know

Well-known in the Call of Duty fan community, insider Hope (TheGhostOfHope) reported that a new Call of Duty instalment, scheduled for release in 2027, is being developed by Sledgehammer Games.

Importantly, it won't be a low-quality project like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2023), which took just 1.5 years to create. The shooter offered a negligible amount of content and was in fact an add-on for Modern Warfare 2 (2022), but it sold for $70.

It's still unknown whether the new Call of Duty from Sledgehammer Games will be a continuation of some sub-series, such as Advanced Warfare, or whether the experienced developers will create something completely new. But in any case, the games from the studio, founded by Glenn Schofield, rarely disappoint the audience and leave positive impressions.

Earlier Tom Henderson also said that in 2027 gamers will see Call of Duty from Sledgehammer Games, and long before that it was reported that the studio is developing a sequel to CoD: Advanced Warfare, dedicated to armed conflicts of the near future.
