iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone 17 Pro: aluminium frame and new camera design - first leak details

The first leaked design of the iPhone 17 Pro shows significant changes, including a return to aluminium for high-end models.

According to Wayne Ma of The Information, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will be the first high-end models with an aluminium frame since the iPhone lineup was split into Pro and non-Pro.

Previously, expensive iPhone models used stainless steel, and with the iPhone 15 Pro, a titanium body. Now Apple has decided to bring back aluminium.

The back panel of the new models will have a combined aluminium and glass construction. The upper part will be made of aluminium, and the camera will have a rectangular protrusion also made of this material, instead of the traditional 3D glass.

The lower part will be made of glass to support wireless charging. The new camera protrusion will be larger than in previous models.

The updated design should be one of the most important changes to the iPhone in recent years. The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max models are expected in autumn 2025.
