Google updates News app design: new Home tab combines news and personalised content

Google is working on a redesign of its Google News app to make it easier for users to navigate.

Here's What We Know

The new version, found in APK version 5.120.0.696279761, combines the For You and Headlines tabs into one - Home. This will allow users to view personalised news and headlines in one tab, without having to switch between different sections.

For the convenience of users, Google has added new interactive buttons in the Home tab that allow them to filter news. There are now options to see news that's just for you, top stories, and categories such as world events, business, and technology. Other tabs, such as Following and Newsstand, remain unchanged.

The updated interface is not currently available in the stable version of the app, but it is expected to be released in the near future.
