Finally! CD Projekt has reported the start of full development of a new instalment of The Witcher with the working title Polaris
Along with the publication of CD Projekt financial report for the third quarter of 2024, which showed excellent sales figures of Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty add-on, the Polish company shared an important news that will surely please fans of The Witcher.
Here's What We Know
Game director Sebastian Kalemba announced the start of full production of a new game in The Witcher franchise codenamed Polaris.
Of course, he didn't share any information about the game, but the fact that the work on it has moved to an active stage can't but be happy.
New challenges are just around the corner, but it's the talented and hardworking people that make me believe that together we can make the upcoming Witcher Saga awesome. No stopping now! Stay tuned and you'll find out what the flip side of the coin is.
All we know about Polaris is that the game will be the first part of a new trilogy and is being created on Unreal Engine 5. The protagonist of the books and past games of The Witcher series, Geralt of Rivia, will probably appear in the next game, but he will definitely not be the central character.
More than four hundred people are working on the game, but we should hardly expect the release to happen before 2027.
