Huawei has announced that from 2025, its smartphones will no longer run on Android. Instead, the company will completely switch to its own Harmony OS Next operating system, which is independent of Android.

Here's What We Know

Harmony OS Next does not support Android applications, so Huawei is actively working with developers to create its own ecosystem. Already about 10,000 apps are compatible with the new OS, and by 2025, it is planned to reach 100,000.

The new flagships of the Mate 70 series and the foldable Mate X6 will be the first devices to receive Harmony OS Next.

However, these models will initially run on Harmony OS 4.3, which is still partially based on Android, but will be able to upgrade to the new system when it becomes available.
