Apple spent at least 15 years developing Vision Pro - it's one of the company's longest-running projects
Apple is not noted for impulsive actions and is extremely responsible with every decision it makes to enter a new market segment. But perhaps the Vision Pro mixed reality headset was one of the longest projects from the beginning of development to release.
Here's What We Know
The publication Macworld estimated that Apple spent at least 15 years on the development of Vision Pro!
Journalists of the portal reminded readers of an article from 2008, which described the patent of the ambitious device, which at the time seemed extremely innovative. An excerpt from the old material reads:
A recently discovered patent filed by Apple in February suggests that it may be working on a wearable display that could simulate the sensation of being in a virtual environment using smart sensors. Apparently, these sensors will be able to recognise head and even eye movements, adapting the video accordingly to make the user feel like they are actually in a real environment.
The patent depicted the device that we know as Vision Pro as time passes.

As a reminder, the Vision Pro augmented reality headset went on sale in 2023 and didn't achieve much popularity. One of the reasons for this is the extremely high price - $ 3500. In addition, potential buyers do not fully understand what this gadget is for.
