Larian Studios has repeatedly announced the end of support for Baldur's Gate III and the seventh patch was supposed to be the last one. But unexpectedly Belgian developers announced another major update.

Here's What We Know

Patch 8 for Baldur's Gate III will be released in 2025. It will not only add options that gamers have long asked for, such as crossplay and photo mode, but also offer several interesting innovations.

The most interesting of them will be the addition of subclasses for each of the 12 character classes. They will have a significant impact on gameplay and will add new abilities, animations, unique dialogues, individual visual effects and much more. For example, the Monk will be able to become a Drunken Master and scorch his enemies with alcoholic beverages to weaken them, as well as consume alcohol himself to gain enhancements.

Crossplay will be implemented across all platforms, with players being able to either invite friends directly or pick up random partners.

Photo mode will allow you to customise almost any shot, providing a range of editing options.

Public testing of Patch 8 is expected in January 2025.
