Summa Drones joint venture will open in Finland to produce drones of all types for Ukraine
The war in Ukraine has shown the importance and indispensability of drones of all kinds on the battlefield. They have become one of the main types of weapons and make it possible to perform various tasks while saving human lives. In addition, the cost of drones is dozens of times less than the objects they can destroy.
Here's What We Know
Since Russian missiles reach anywhere in Ukraine, any military production becomes a potential target for strikes against them. To solve this problem, Ukraine is making arrangements with partners to open factories on their territories and one of them will soon be up and running in Finland.
Finnish group of defence companies Summa Defence together with Ukrainian partners will build a factory in Finland to produce drones.
First of all, Summa Defence will establish a subsidiary company Summa Drones. Then Summa Drones will open a joint venture, which will include Ukrainian drone manufacturers Kort, Elf Systems, Skyassist and MPS Development.
It is planned that the factory will be operational in the first half of 2025 and will significantly increase the number of drones that are used in the war against the Russian occupiers.
Importantly, the drones will be supplied not only to Ukraine, but also to the European Union and NATO countries, which will strengthen their security and defence capabilities.
Summa Drones will produce air, land and marine drones.
