Google Photos changes memories to Moments and moves them to Collections
Google Photos is making changes to the organisation of memories, which will now be called Moments. The update is already available on iOS and will soon be available for Android.
Here's What We Know
Previously, Google Photos automatically grouped your photos into themed collections using AI.
Now, this feature will be moved to the Collections section, and the category itself will be renamed Moments. Instead of a separate tab on the bottom navigation bar, users will find their memories in a new location.
The change of name and location gives the interface a more logical structure, as "Moments" better reflects the essence of this function than the previous name "Timeline". The innovation is already available for iOS users, and it will be available for Android in the near future.
The functionality hasn't changed - it's all the same memories, but more conveniently organised and with a new name.
