Riot Games' harsh trial of content creators: hate and questionable advertising are banned
Fame is always a big responsibility (just like Uncle Ben taught us). And that's why you need to think before you speak, and offensive statements can damage your reputation. However, sometimes these restrictions become very strict.
Here's What We Know
Riot Games imposes strict rules for content creators who play Riot games (League of Legends, Valorant).
For example, if a content creator uses hateful language against a player or teammate on their stream, but not in game chat or voice messages, they can still be punished as if such behaviour had occurred in the game.
If you say or do things that violate Riot's Terms of Service while streaming or creating content about games, Riot may restrict access to your Riot accounts (and suspend your affiliate privileges if you are a member of an affiliate programme).
If a writer is sponsored by a website that promotes the purchase and sale of accounts or otherwise encourages players to violate Riot's rules, Riot may suspend access to your Riot account.
The rules will come into effect on 3 January 2025, so there is still time to think about your behaviour and stop advertising dubious bookmakers.
