Jaguar Type 00 Concept: at last the official premiere and the first technical specifications of the future production model

Photos of the Jaguar Type 00 Concept leaked into the network shortly before the official premiere of this car, but this did not prevent the British manufacturer to hold the first demonstration of the novelty at Miami Art Week. This is the very "zero-zero", which symbolises the future of the brand in the field of electric cars.

Here's What We Know

The design language of the Jaguar Type 00 is called "Exuberant Modernism", or "excessive modernism". The front end looks as simple as possible: thin headlight lines, a minimalist grille and a long bonnet. Another feature is the absence of a rear window, which is replaced by a "pantographic" boot lid. Instead of side mirrors, cameras are installed, but even those appear only when necessary.

Flat front seats are divided in half by a brass rod. Apart from the steering wheel and pedals, there are no visible instruments or controls, but there are two large screens. The interior is extremely minimalist and a bit odd. Apart from the 'hand-woven inspired' wool blend, the seats and centre stack are decorated with travertine stone. Yes, Jaguar has integrated natural stone into an electric car.

Specifications and production model

Regarding the technical part, Jaguar is keeping intrigue for now. It is only stated that the Type 00 is built on the JEA platform for electric cars of the future. Based on the Type 00, the company is now developing a production four-door GT, which will be presented at the end of 2025. It will have a range of up to 770 kilometres (478 miles) on the WLTP cycle or 430 miles (692 km) on the EPA cycle. Support for fast charging is also claimed, adding up to 321 kilometres (200 miles) in 15 minutes.

Judging by the spy photos circulating online, the production car may differ significantly from this strange concept. However, the general design approaches and proportions will remain. We don't have long to wait.
