Blizzard will remove the original versions of Warcraft 1 and 2 from sale, but GOG will continue to support them so that the classics will live forever

In November, Blizzard released remasters of Warcraft 1 and 2. And as it sometimes happens with publishers, if there is an updated version, the original one can be removed from sales.

Here's What We Know

TheGOG store reported that Warcraft: Orcs and Humans and Warcraft II will leave the store on 13 December 2024.

And because of this, GOG decided to update one aspect of the store's preservation programme policy. Going forward, even if the game is no longer available for sale on GOG, as part of the GOG Store Preservation Programme, it will continue to be supported and updated to ensure compatibility with current and future systems.

So anyone who purchased them before they were removed will still have the most compatible, high-quality versions guaranteed by the GOG Preservation Programme.

And because GOG doesn't use DRM, you'll have access to their offline installers, ensuring you have continuous access to them to use whenever you want.
