The United States of America has announced another package of military aid to Ukraine. This time the amount is much larger than usual and amounts to 725m dollars.
Here's What We Know
The administration of Joe Biden reported that the new military aid package included:
- ammunition for NASAMS surface-to-air missile systems;
- Stinger missiles;
- munitions to counter unmanned aerial systems (c-UAS);
- munitions for highly mobile artillery rocket systems (HIMARS);
- 155mm and 105mm artillery ammunition;
- unmanned aerial vehicles of all types;
- non-resistant landmines;
- tube-launched, optically tracked and wire-guided (TOW) missiles;
- Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems;
- small arms and ammunition;
- demolition equipment and ammunition;
- equipment to protect critical national infrastructure;
- spare parts, support equipment, services, training and transport.
In addition, Jake Sullivan, the US President's National Security Advisor, said that hundreds of thousands more artillery shells and thousands more missiles will be delivered to Kyiv by mid-January. Apparently, they want to do this before the inauguration of Donald Trump, which will be held on 20 January.
