Commandos: Origins will not be released in 2024 - the developers of the ambitious tactical game have postponed the release for the sake of improving the main elements of the project
Kalypso Media and Claymore Game Studios promised to release the tactical game Commandos: Origins in 2024, but the German developers' plans have changed somewhat.
Here's What We Know
Game designers reported that after analysing gamers' feedback on the demo and closed testing of Commandos: Origins, they came to the decision to postpone the game's release to March 2025.
The additional time Claymore Game Studios will spend on improving the performance and general technical state of Commandos: Origins, as well as making changes to the interface, balance, artificial intelligence behaviour and other elements.
The Commandos franchise has always been known for its tactical diversity, offering different approaches to mission progression. The teams at Claymore Game Studios and Kalypso Media want to keep this tradition alive. Thanks to a lot of feedback from our community, we are now putting the finishing touches on the game and will soon be ready to offer players a taste of real tactics in action.
As a reminder, Commandos: Origins is set to bring the once popular tactical game series back into the spotlight. Users will again have to take under their control a squad of unique characters and conduct military operations in the rear of the Nazi army. These will be tasks to eliminate officers, sabotage, reconnaissance, steal documents and rescue important people.
Commandos: Origins will offer a variety of locations, from the Arctic ice to the sands of Africa. The game will be available for co-op play, both online and on one screen.
Commandos: Origins will be released on PC, Xbox and PlayStation consoles of both current generations and will be available in the Xbox Game Pass catalogue.
