Peugeot has unveiled an updated Landtrek pick-up truck, adding styling changes, a new multimedia system and a more efficient engine. The manufacturer says this update will help strengthen the model's position in the African, Middle East and South American markets.

What has changed?

The exterior of the Landtrek has received a number of new details. The grille has received the original mesh insert and an updated Peugeot logo, while the model name above the emblem has replaced the brand name. At the rear, there is a new bumper and the cargo area cover now sports brand and model inscriptions.

The innovations inside are also immediately noticeable. A new 7-inch digital instrument cluster and an updated multimedia with a 10-inch touchscreen now support wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The interface of the multimedia system has also been redesigned - widgets have been added there for ease of use.

Engines

The most interesting thing is the new engine. The 2.2-litre Multijet turbodiesel produces 200bhp and 450Nm of torque, instead of the previous unit of similar displacement (180bhp and up to 400Nm). It works with permanent four-wheel drive and an 8-speed automatic transmission. This version has four driving modes: Normal, Sport, Snow and Sand. An optional 6-speed manual is also available.

Also standard for the expensive configuration are electric power steering, electronic "handbrake", automatic braking system, adaptive cruise control with Stop Go function, monitoring of "blind" zones and rear disc brakes.

Other engines remain in the model line-up. So, 1.9-litre turbodiesel with 150 hp and 350 Nm can be with rear or all-wheel drive, six-speed "automatic" or "manual". The 2.4-litre turbo petrol engine develops 210bhp and 320Nm, is matched with the same transmissions, but is only available in a rear-wheel drive version.
