Nissan Ariya drivers in the US will be able to charge on the Tesla Supercharger network from 10 December
Nissan Ariya owners in the US can rejoice: from next week, namely 10 December, they will be able to charge their electric cars at more than 17,000 Tesla Supercharger stations. This was officially announced by the carmaker. At the same time, Nissan Leaf owners will be left out of this progressive change due to the use of the outdated CHAdeMO connector.
Here's What We Know
Nissan is gradually switching to support Tesla's popular NACS (North American Charging System) development charging system in the US. To charge the Ariya on the Supercharger, an adapter is needed - its price is $235. The adapter can already be ordered through an official dealer or at Nissanusa.com. You can check the availability of charging stations, charging status and make a payment via the MyNISSAN app. And starting in 2025, Nissan will begin equipping electric vehicles for the US and Canadian markets with a NACS port, so they will be able to charge on the Tesla Supercharger network without adapters.

The Nissan Leaf with a CHAdeMO charging connector, on the other hand, isn't even considered in this context. The automaker didn't mention this model at all in the press release.
